Long Beach Utilities Department (LBUD) shall review and approve the demolition plan for water and sewer utilities.
The demolition plan shall refer to the following documents:
1. The Design Guidelines a. Potable Water Distribution System Design Criteria b. Sanitary Sewer System Design Criteria
2. Construction Notes for Off-Site Water Sewer Plans (found on the Off-Site Utilities Plan page)
The demolition plan shall be a separate plan from the off-site utilities plan and address whether existing water and sewer services will be protected in place, relocated, and/or removed.
3. Existing Water Service Laterals: All existing water service laterals that will not be reused must be kill-tapped.
4. Existing Sewer Laterals: All sewer laterals must be capped prior to any grading or excavation. a. For demolition projects, all existing sewer laterals shall be capped at the main. b. Any new cut-in sewer connection shall be installed for future building or development.
