Long Beach, CA – In response to recent reports of cyberattacks targeting out‑of‑state water systems, the Long Beach Utilities Department assures the community that its drinking water system remains safe, secure, and fully protected. The Department has experienced no breaches, disruptions, or attempted intrusions affecting its water distribution network. The Long Beach Utilities Department maintains a robust and proactive security posture. Our dedicated team safeguards the system daily through continuous monitoring, strict access controls, and an up‑to‑date incident response readiness plan designed to quickly address any potential threats.
“We want to assure our customers that their drinking water continues to be safe and dependable,” said Board President Kevin Scott. “Our vigilant staff works around the clock to ensure the integrity of the system and the protection of our community’s essential resources."
